New Year, New Shop - #2013Love

Happy New Year Everyone!!
I'm so happy to welcome 2013 with so much love and excitement.  Also, I want to say thank you to all the lovely customers, friends and family who supported me throughout the years. After doing my reflections - #Reflect2012, I was able to plan for 2013 and I'm so excited to start checking off my goals.

As you can see, I have a new logo which I'm so excited to chat about with everyone, especially about the multi-talented artist, Kendall Simpson who did it for me! Look out for that very soon.

Please check out the new Aye' Shanti SHOP - which is currently open and ready for you lovely customers to check out. (Just click the SHOP tab above) You'll find new button earring designs, which are larger then the previous earrings I sold, however there still light, comfortable and FUNKY! One of my new additions to the shop are my fabric and chain layered necklaces that were featured in a Caribbean Fashion Show this past summer. I'm also excited to feature some hand cut greeting cards inspired by LOVE and FASHION. I sold a few of these last holiday season, but I'm totally in love with these new colorful designs with my favorite fabric prints.

12 Days of Reflection 2012 Challenge

12 Days of Reflection 2012 Challenge December 12-23rd Reflection-> the ability to reflect beams or rays. Reflect-> manifest or bring back

Join me again for 12 days of Reflection 2012. Every year around the holidays, I dedicate some time to #reflect in a journal or notebook with questions and lists about the past year and my hopes for the New Year. Two years ago, I was so inspired by a group of women who created an online challenge of sorts called #reverb11, #relish11, or # resound11 (check those hashtags on Twitter, especially my creative friend, Hope from www.Besottment.com) They gave out daily prompts or questions throughout the month of December that allowed you to think about the past year and to also prepare for the coming year through reflective writing, journaling or drawing. It doesn’t take much to start; all you need is a pen, some paper/journal or even use your notes section from your phone or tablet and a few minutes out of your day. Share the questions with your family and friends, add your own questions for yourself, get creative with your pages (if you want to) and just enjoy the journey. I have decided to create a smaller version of this event called 12 Days of Reflection (#reflect12) from December 12th – 23rd filled with topics on the past year and preparing for 2013. Midsummer Isle's Dream Collection 2012

It's 1am and I'm up adding finishing touches to orders, projects and preparing for the release of a collection I call "Midsummer Isle's Dream". These designs are filled with color, flair, riddim and a mix of fabrics and metals. I was so inspired by the mix of my Caribbean roots and Urban settings, that I somehow enjoy sketching designs that merges both worlds. I currently have a few of the pieces up and ready for purchase in my SHOP so definitely check it out.

Happy Monday and New Designs!!!

First, I hope everyone's Monday is starting off on the right foot. I think the remaining days of the week are reflected by the first day. My weekend was filled with jewelry creations, stationary designing and lots of fun at the Grenada Day Festival in Brooklyn(photos coming soon). I am also preparing to add more photos to my Etsy shop (still in production) but here's a sneak peek. Enjoy and make sure to check back for updates.

Monday Inspiration: Photo App Phonto

Happy Monday everyone, here's some creative inspiration! So, after Friday's post about my LOVE for Instagram, so many people were messaging me about the apps I use to add the typography to my pictures. Well the one I've been recently using is the app Phonto:

It's very easy:
* Upload your photo
* Touch the screen and add your text
* Try and play around with the various fonts
* Play with colors
AND HAVE FUN!! 


This is the perfect app for quick, on the go playing around with photos! I use these for my Art/Journaling! Here's another photo I took of a fellow Crafter, Scrapbooker, Artist, Instagrammer Williesburgscrapper while enjoying the streets of NYC (Check out her blog: My Analog Life):

INSTAGRAM Love & Another Sneak Peek

Hey, I’m on INSTAGRAM…and I just LOVE IT! This has given me an opportunity to post photos, (if you don’t know me, I love photography!), also to post it on more than one social media at a time and to meet some amazing people! At first I thought, do I need another social media app, because I think I have enough?? However, when I tried it out and found the ease and fun of connecting with others over the daily pics of our lives, INSTAGRAM truly got my vote! Oh and the filters are just fabulous!
