As we prepare for the new year, making lists of things you want to accomplish, develop or work towards to is important.

Day 8 - 12 Days of Reflection 2012

Day 8: #reflect12 "If you could say thank you to someone or to a # of people, who would they would be?"

So we did a thankful list but how about a "thank you" list. If we can put together a list of people who have been there for us in the past year, perhaps a bus driver who waited for you at the stop several mornings, or a neighbor, a teacher, your family members or friends. A simple "thank you" could bring a special holiday joy into their lives. Perhaps you will consider sending them a "thank you" note, text or phone call to them after this.

Spring/Summer 2012- Behind the Scenes Video and Photography

Yaaaay! I'm so excited to share some behind the scenes footage from the Aye' Shanti Spring/Summer 2012 Collection! We had the privilege of using a lovely location at the swanky Downtown Brooklyn hair salon, www.Solbkny.com! Inspired by my Caribbean roots and urban culture, this season’s designs are funky, colorful and sooo bright!  I’ve also created a line of bracelets and charms that are the perfect arm candy for layering with bangles.  We also had the opportunity to shoot some DIY projects for the blog, so I’m really excited about that.  In the mean time, enjoy this video and don’t forget to sign up to get updates!! "Well-Behaved Women Seldom..."

This morning while working on my 30 Days of Lists Challenge Day 5, "Words to Live By", I remembered a quote when I was studying Women's Studies in college. It stated, "Well-Behaved Women Seldom Make History"—Laurel Thatcher Ulrich,  and I thought how profound it was to me. When we examine the ways the women have shaped our lives with a voice, without fear, with an incredible sense of courage...  I am proud of all the women who Miss Behaved to make History!

Trinidad Carnival Inspired Jewels: Yuma "Call of Duty"

So, usually around this time I'm posting all the Carnival designs I've created for my clients. However, this year I'm waiting for after Carnival to put together some photos of everyone in full mas regalia. I was given permission by one of my clients to go ahead and post their Carnival Monday earrings or I should a design close to it. Let's just say I added a lil this and that to the earring to give it a carnival vibe! She's playing in Yuma's "Call of Duty" which is a HOT design for the militant lovin' chica! Check out my SHOP  (on the right) for "You are a STAR" earrings, perfect for this costume!
Also, look out tomorrow for some "Love" inspired designs... Valentine's Day is right around the corner!
